Dramatic Influence New Zealand Team are featured at Muckleshoot Tribe Canoe Dinner for Native Canoe Societies.

The event is the end of canoe season dinner to honor those who participated in the Native canoe Journey and those who helped make it possible.

The Natic Canoe Journey annual event involves participants and Native Canoes of the Pacific Northwest Tribes and First Nations: Washington, Oregon, Alaska and British Columbia.

Dramatic Influence featured in Television shows

DRAMATIC INFLUENCE FEATURED ON TV AND PODCAST PROGRAMS 

Dramatic Influence New Zealand at Nisqually. Nov. 2007 

Dramatic Influence New Zealand will be featured in two separate Television shows and a Podcast program. These will be taped on Nov.20, 2007 in Olympia, Washington, USA. Location address for TCTV where the programs will be taped: 440 Yauger Way SW, Olympia, WA 98502 

LIVE PERFORMANCE 

Dramatic Influence New Zealand will present their full program Tuesday evening Nov. 20th at 8 PM at the Nisqually Tribal Center east of Olympia, Washington, USA. Location address for Nisqually Tribe Is 4820 She Nah Num Drive S.E., Olympia, WA 98513

One of the TV shows, entitled NW Native Culture, will feature interviews and show highlights of Dramatic Influence New Zealand’s tour performances. The second TV show will be the entire Dramatic Influence performance as presented for schools and tribal communities throughout their tour. The podcast program will be featured on at least two channels of Yaktivate.com on the internet.  

Both TV programs will air on TCTV in Olympia several times over the next two months, and will be offered to local TV stations in various parts of the country. Air times in other areas to be announced.  

Producer and director of these programs, Sue Charles, has eagerly taken on the mission of promoting Dramatic Influence NZ both on the internet and in traditional media. Sue is an award winning television and documentary producer and the owner of NW Native Media Productions. She is the producer and director of NW Native Culture TV series which has featured many guests and topics since 1991.  

DRAMATIC INFLUENCE NEW ZEALAND  

Dramatic Influence New Zealand is a group of Maori young people from New Zealand who are touring the US and Canada promoting positive messages such as: “Be Proud to be Native”, It’s Cool to Stay in School”, “BE FREE: Drug-free, Smoke-free, Alcohol-free and Violence-free!”  

The program consists of presentations in Maori cultural dance and song, hop-hop, sign language, rap and skits, reaching the youth of today in a good and positive way.  Contact:

Tour News: Dakota’s, Wyoming, Montana, Idaho

Kia ora!!

We had a fab time on Pine Ridge and Rosebud reservations during our 6th week of tour and still loving the travelling, the rubbing skin with the Natives, diggin’ Indian tacos – oohhhh yeah! Went from Rosebud to Lame deer, Montana… still haven’t seen any snow yet, kinda good I’m loving the sunshine!! We presented at 2 schools in Lame deer on Tuesday 6th Nov and a night show and then headed to Nez Perze Wednesday……. loving what the Lord is doing and showing us on this tour, He is truly amazing!!

Idaho Welcomes Dramatic Influence NZ Team

News update 10-15-07 from Dramatic Influence NZ Team member, Chanelle:  

Kia ora!!  

Dramatic Influence NZ 2007 Team has just arrived in Idaho on Saturday October 13th, and we’re ready to rock Idaho and minister to the youth of Plummer, Worley and Coeur D’Alene tomorrow afternoon at the Wellness Centre at 4 PM!  

We are having a wonderful time, seizing every moment and enjoying each new experience, loving meeting all the beautiful people and trying some very new and different foods. 

We’re representing our Maori culture and hoping to make a difference in people’s lives.

Welcome

We are a young, Maori group from New Zealand, aged between 15-28. We have 3 youth from the Muckleshoot Tribe traveling and dancing with us. They have lived with us in New Zealand for the past 6 months. It’s been an exciting experience for all……..

We travel through the United States, Canada and Hawaii promoting a positive message of “Being proud to be Native”, “It’s cool to stay in school”, BE FREE: Drug-free, Smoke-free and Alcohol-free and Violence-free! We do this through our cultural dance, hip-hop, sign-language and rap. Our way of reaching the youth of today in a good and positive way!!!
